Not all vegetated surfaces are sustainable

By definition, sustainable should have the ability to maintain itself for an indefinite period of time. With green roofs or green walls, for example, the idea is that it should be self-sustaining by design given the right planting palette. But what happens if you choose to plant something that your mom might plant in her flower beds every spring, like pansies for example? When play structures get a little creative

While living in Germany this past year, I've noticed so many nice playgrounds throughout Europe. And not just one or two here and there, but they are ALL cool, even if they are small. Perhaps there will just be a clearing in some trees and some crazy structure with ropes all over it or maybe just some totally souped up tire swing or curving, moving bars that you just have to mess with to figure out what they can do.
